Assalam-o-Alaikum

Is celebrating Birthday permissible in Islam? Like little boys celeberate their Birthdays with friends etc, cut the cakes and enjoy the time. Is that OK?

Celebration of Birthdays is a mere imitation of the disbelievers and a superfluous act of extravagance. The essential sanctity of Hijab is often slattered due mixed gathering of male and female. It is therefore, improper and against the norms of Islamic Shareeah.

Allah knows the best.
