Dear Sir,

Some person celebrate Eid Melad Mustafa in mosques and display happiness for this day and take out Jaloos and decorate the streets and houses; is it permissible or not in the light of Islam?

Reference your query of 24-5-2002, it is a noble deed to commemorate the memories of the beloved of Allah (Muhammad-Ur-Rasool Allah); yet to add custom and conventionalism is not proved from Quran or Hadith.
