Is abortion allowed in Islam? If it is, what stage is it to make abortion?

Assalaam-o-Alaikum
Ref. Your query of 29-5-2002 Abortion after a 4-months pregnancy is HARAAM and there is no apology anyway. However, before 4-months pregnancy with sufficient reason is permissible; for example if the suckling baby is devoid off feed due to the fresh pregnancy and the growth is effected or impossible or some physician, fully conversant with DEEN, after examination of the pregnant lady advises such abortion due to some danger to the life of the patient or danger to her babies.
