Respected Mufti Sahib,

Assalaam-o-Alaikum
Can we keep a share for AQIQA in the shares of the QURBANI of a cow? If so, how shall the Niyyat of AQIQA be pronounced during the recitation of Takbeer of Slaughter? How shall we say that Dua for AQIQA?

Assalaam-o-Alaikum
One can participate in the animal of QURBANI (say cow or camel) for AQIQA. But only one share will not suffice for Qurbani and Aqiqa. Both the shares must be separately nominated and paid for. It is not necessary to utter the words for Qurbani or Aqiqa at the time of slaughter or scarification. Only Takbeer is sufficient. God knows the Niyyat of everybody.
